- Definition: An area where an explosive gas, vapor, or mist is present continuously or for long periods.
- Likelihood of Hazard: Constant or prolonged presence.
- Typical Industries: Oil refineries, underground fuel tanks, chemical manufacturing.
- Example Locations:
- Inside fuel storage tanks
- Interiors of process vessels handling flammable gases
- Sealed chemical reactors
